Michael Sabony is an attorney at Avelino Law LLP. Prior to joining the firm, Michael was a partner at a boutique litigation firm, where he represented public and private entities in a broad range of disputes. Michael has served as Tax Counsel to numerous municipalities throughout New Jersey, advising clients on complex taxation issues and representing their interests in contested matters. An experienced litigator, he has handled complex commercial disputes and regularly appeared in both state and federal courts. Michael represents clients through all phases of litigation, from early case evaluation and strategy, through discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial preparation. In addition to litigation matters, he has experience negotiating and drafting contracts, settlement agreements, and documents related to real estate transactions.

Michael takes a client-centered approach to representation, working closely with clients to understand their personal and business objectives, risk tolerance, and desired outcomes in all facets of representation. He focuses on developing practical legal strategies aligned with each client’s best interests, whether through advising, litigating, or negotiating as appropriate. By combining thoughtful counsel with strong advocacy, Michael helps clients make informed decisions while pursuing efficient and effective resolutions.

Following law school, Michael served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Christine M. Nugent, J.T.C., of the Tax Court of New Jersey. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and received his B.S. in Accounting from Binghamton University.
